新冠肺炎蔓延全球,世界各國致力尋找預防與治療之道,近日有報告顯示強制接種卡介苗的國家,其新冠肺炎感染率與死亡率似乎雙雙較低,但此篇60萬人的大型研究不支持這個結果。究其原因有此趨勢並不代表兩者間有確實的因果關係,有可能強制接種卡介苗的國家的公共衛生政策較全面、民眾衛生習慣落實情形較佳等,才因此較能免於新冠肺炎侵襲。因此,相關論述仍需藉由進一步的免疫學研究加以判斷。

過去有一些文獻表示HCQ +/- azithromycin可改善COVID-19病人的預後。但上述兩篇分別刊登於JAMA與NEJM的文獻,得到相似的結論:HCQ+/-azithromcyin對改善住院中COVID-19患者的插管、死亡率沒有幫助,還可能增加心臟相關副作用的風險。兩篇文章皆為觀察性研究,受限於其實驗設計有許多限制,但在更多隨機分派研究的結果出來前,我們更需謹慎評估HCQ於COVID-19的使用。
